The Sounds of Puerto Rico
I went outside for some fresh air and I recorded a bit of the background noise.
That is the Coquí, a frog that is native to Puerto Rico, it is our national symbol.
INTERESTING FACT:
The Coquí has been spread (by human intervention) to other Caribbean countries and even to the state of Hawaii. In some of those countries there have been programs for its extermination since people complain about the noise they make at night.
Such a thing would sound inconceivable to any Puerto Rican, since any of us would tell you that this noise is something we miss dearly when we move away.
